Help / Frequently Asked Questions.
Ordering Posters from National Poster Prints is simple, just follow the steps
in the 1-2-3 Order page, when ordering from National
Poster Prints please ensure that you read and understand our Terms
and Conditions prior to placing any order.
Suitable files/photos - choosing the right image
size to enlarge.
A digital image is composed of dots or pixels arranged in rows and columns.
The higher the number of megapixels your camera is able to shoot the better
your enlargement will be. The best images are TIF or a low compression JPG.
We cannot use RAW files, but you can shoot these yourselves and then convert
to tif. Whilst we can enlarge any image to a poster size, more megapixels and
no compression yield the sharpest results.
Gloss or Satin Poster?
Generally speaking, we sell more posters in satin/low gloss for portraits and
wedding photos, for everything else our clients normally order gloss. Gloss
brings the colours up sharp and vibrant, whereas satin/low gloss tends to soften
the image.
Is your credit charged when you order?
No. We wait to see your image then match it to your poster order and make sure
that it will pass our basic pixel test. If the image is not suitable we will
contact you immediately at no cost.
Poster Handling and Packaging - do we take care?
Our absolute priority is to dispatch your poster in A1 condition. Once your
image is printed we allow it to dry thoroughly. Once dry we cover it with a
bank paper sheet and gently roll the poster which avoids any scratches or marks.
At all times we handle your poster with cotton gloves to ensure there are no
moisture or sweat marks. Once rolled inside the tube we seal the tube with security
tape. Australia Post are our preferred delivery service and they do an excellent
job. We would always recommend Registered Post as an add-on to be sure that
your goods are insured and signed for, but only rarely has an accident damaged
a poster in transit. Please note National Poster Prints is not liable for any
damage in transit.
How to send your image?
Email digital images less than 12mb in size to info@posterprints.com.au.
Anything larger than 12mb, please send on non-returnable CD. If you are sending
an original print for scanning please note that there will be a charge to send
it back to you.
Shopping cart problems
If you run a firewall or a program like Zone Alarm our shopping cart may not
update correctly. To avoid this issue you may need to temporarily disable these
softwares.
Should I put my image in a word document or pdf?
No. Word documents and pdfs don't allow us to control the colour tones or
scaling, whereas a jpeg/tif file will be neutral and we can easily scale
these to give you the best outcome.
Do you need a panoramic or custom size poster
print that doesn't match the sizes we have in our catalogue?
No problem, just
email us and tell us what size you want and we will gladly quote that
for you.
Do you want to pay by American
Express or Diners Club, but we don't offer it as an option?
Please email
us and we will look into it for you for the future. Our customer base
hasn't been requesting this but we can certainly look at it for you as a
future payment option.
The order doesn't show the
correct GST amount re: freight?
This an issue being looked at by the secure payment method providers, however,
please note that we provide a Tax Invoice with your goods when shipped to
you, and on that the GST will be correctly shown. The total order amount
you receive is correct, just the GST amount may appear incorrectly calculated.
The Australian Taxation Office only looks at the Tax Invoice as your proof
of purchase, not the Order Form. We are intending to resolve this in the
very near future.
